gentle decay in the garden

artichoke

rhubarb

The plants in the garden are gently dying back so it’s time to tidy up a little and prepare for winter.

The last of the outdoor tomatoes have been picked and brought in to ripen, the plants have

been cut down and the canes taken away and stored ready for next year.

What great images. I would happily sit an artichoke head in a vase- it’s so extraordinary as an example of natural design. AndI love the colour of that decaying leaf-I am guessing rhubarb.
