The Farm

rolled field Little Forest

The first record of Slamseys Farm appears in the Domesday Book, where it’s listed as Slamondesheia, the name thought to originate from the Old English meaning enclosure of the sloe tree hill. The hedgerows around the farm still contain plenty of sloe bearing blackthorn along with a rich mixture of other plants and trees that provide a good habitat for wildlife.
